Peter Escher - Class of 2002
For our December 13th luncheon at the WAC, we are delighted to have another exceptional speaker, Peter Escher, member of the Sigma Tau class of 2002, the greatest class to walk the halls. After three years at Quellos Peter joined Alex Mason (class of 2001) at the Harvard Business School MBA program. During his time at Harvard, Peter co founded the MBA Oath (www.mbaoath.org) an effort to increase commitment to ethics and values among business leaders (particularly those with MBAs). This work included the writing of a book, “The MBA Oath: Setting a Higher Standard for Business Leaders” and continued success as the organization grew to its current state of over 6,000 signers and 300 institutional participants.
After graduating from Harvard Business School in 2009, Peter quickly moved up the ranks at Liberty Mutual, General Mills and Starbucks to his current position as Director of Creative and Brand at PitchBook. Pitchbook has enjoyed tremendous success as a startup and was recently acquired by Morningstar. Peter will tell us about some of the amazing things he is doing while not serving as the commissioner of our class’s fantasy football team and raising his two lovely children. For some heads up on Peter’s doings, articles on his exploits are here: 2009 CNN Article Re: MBA Oath ; here "Value of a Cool Office" by Peter Escher, Pitchbook ; "The MBA's Moral Obligation" Forbes 2010 and more recently a piece referencing Peter and his wife Diane (also a Harvard grad) on balancing work and raising kids: "How We Make It Work" Harvard Business School 2016.
We look forward to seeing you at this can’t miss luncheon, capping off a great year of speakers!
